NSK
Ltd. was founded in 1916, which was the earliest company engaging in the
manufacturing of bearings in Japan. Now, NSK has become the biggest bearing
manufacturer in Japan and is also one of the leading bearing manufacturers
in the world.
NSK is striving to meet the rotation needs of the world. The uses for
bearings are endless, and NSK products thousands of thousands types of
transmission parts (bearings) for the world to use. The scope of applications
ranges from dental hand price that require high-speed rotation to heavy-load
mass transportation industry and high-durability, large-sized rollneck
bearings in steel mills. Besides, these bearings are even used in satellite
attitudinal control system. As such, NSK is capable of supplying and satisfying
the market demand. In Japan,
NSK has 18 plants producing bearings ranging from miniature bearings with
outer diameter of 3mm to large-sized bearings measuring 5 meters or more.
Many years of bearing production have enable NSK to accumulate a massive
resource of precision processing know-how that is reflected in the super
quality and durability of its products. These products including automotive
products, ball screws, linear guides, high-speed spindles for machine
tools and high-precision mechatronic products. Besides, six R&D laboratories
are also provided.
Even before the advent of the "borderless economy," NSK was aggressively
expanding its activities overseas and began to operate overseas factories
in the early 1970s. NSK commenced production in the United States in 1973.
Today, nine bearing factories have been expanded in North and South America.
Enhanced technical services enable NSK to respond precisely to customer
needs.
It has been more than 20 years since NSK set up Peterlee Plant in UK as
a production base. In 1990, NSK acquired RHP which is the largest bearing
manufacturer in UK. This move enabled NSK to expand its production network
to encompass not only the U.K., but also Germany and Switzerland. With
the facility of European Technology Center, NSK has consolidated the 3-In-1
system combining production, sales and technical R&D for supporting its
activities in European market. By now, NSK has established 13 bearing
plants in Europe.
In Asia, NSK began its bearing production in Korea starting from 1987
and from 1995, more factories were set up in Indonesia, Malaysia and Mainland
China. Asia is a dynamic region. NSK aims to create a system capable of
responding quickly to changes in regional demands in that region by integrating
its production, sales and technical operations in Asia. Now, NSK has set
up 8 plants in this region.
NSK is reputed around the world for its high precision, high quality and
high durability products which are trusted by all consumers. Furthermore,
NSK has also brought significant contributions to Taiwan along the way
of industrial elevation and creating economic miracle.
